We are a NPC which voluntary organization that operates independently of government and  dedicated to addressing specific social, environmental, or humanitarian issues. As a NPC we work to bring positive change, raise awareness, provide assistance, and advocate for the well-being of communities or causes they support.

The Founder

Ms Thulile Gambushe

Dotted O Foundation is a not for profit organization founded by Ms Thulile Gambushe in
2022 to exclusively deal with the stigma, social ills, drug abuse, environmental and
economically challenges facing Hillbrow in the Inner City of Jo’burg while creating
a model for other distressed cities and towns around the country.

The foundation seeks to mobilize immediate communities to redress some of the
country’s complex socio-economic and environmental challenges with the sole
objective of demonstrating the power of united communities

Working With The City

Collaborations between nonprofit organizations and municipal authorities to clean up and improve neighborhoods are important initiatives in urban areas. Hillbrow, located in Johannesburg, has faced numerous challenges related to crime, poverty, and social issues in the past. Initiatives to clean up the streets and enhance the living conditions in Hillbrow could include:

  1. Community Clean-Up Projects: Nonprofit organizations often work with volunteers from the community to organize clean-up events. These events may involve removing litter, graffiti, and debris from the streets, parks, and public spaces in Hillbrow.

  2. Safety and Security Initiatives: Collaborations may also focus on improving safety by implementing measures such as increased lighting, community policing, and initiatives to reduce crime and drug-related problems.

  3. Social Services and Support: In addition to cleaning up the streets, these organizations might also provide support for vulnerable residents, including access to housing, healthcare, and education.

  4. Economic Development: Efforts may be made to stimulate economic development in the area, creating job opportunities and helping to lift residents out of poverty.

  5. Advocacy and Awareness: These collaborations can also raise awareness about the challenges faced by the community and advocate for policy changes or increased resources from the city government to address these issues.
